11th June 2018
Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: 15kts
Surf / Sea State: flat / small waves
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: cool
Weather: warm sunny
Max Speed: 22.74 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 10.58 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Missed all the steady NE winds the boys have been enjoying all last week due to other commitments and not sailed since May 14th. Arrived late again, but wind was fresh, several out Andy going well on his Bolt 135 / 7.0 combo, Neil 8m / shredder, smaller guys on 6.0m.
Sunny but cool wind, so rigged 7.8 RRD 3 cam sail / Bolt 135. Wind eased little but water still looked F4.
As soon as I launched I knew 7.8 was way too small. Sailed way out and not planed once. Thankfully the 135 bolt is more forgiving than the 125 last time at Bradfield, so no walk of shame, but was lucky didn't lose any groins as crawled back. Hooked up my Patrick 145. Was a little better but only planed in the gusts and never going back to the beach. Gym weights made it fairly easy sail even out of harness - so that's a positive, but still 25% down at the gym on weights, so all is good on fitness. Good arm work out. Cant comment on the Bolt 135, but Andy was flying on 7.0m. Its nice and floaty / corky and very forgiving so can get back from wind drops and gybe under powered. Cant wait to power it up. Will need to remember to rig big up to 15kts (Docks wind guage said 17kts) no matter what the others are using, as weighing 105kg + kit. Not bad session though and flat water. Packed when tide was getting impossible for me. Lord S broke a UJ way out and had a big swim. Def going to get a fast find gps gadget now. Ian couldn't find him as the tide took him easy 500 meters in a very short time. Recovery was at Dip side of the Fludyers (he swam in) and kit picked up by Chris in car. Very lucky. Hope another session Tuesday
